Carlos Alcaraz has shared his thoughts on their doubles loss at the Paris Olympics. On his Games debut, the 21-year-old teamed up with b, marking what could be Nadal’s last Olympics. Despite being an inexperienced duo, they made it to the quarterfinals before being knocked out.

On Wednesday (July 31), the Spanish team of Nadal and Alcaraz (together known as ‘Nadalcaraz’) bowed out of the Olympics to the highly experienced American duo of Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek. It was a hard pill to swallow for many tennis fans as they knew that the loss meant that the Olympic dream was over for Nadal.

After losing the final point, Nadal held back tears as he waved at the fans for probably one last time. It was his last Olympics and might be his last time stepping onto the courts of Philippe-Chatrier as the Spaniard walked back to the locker room.

Reflecting on the loss, Alcaraz first acknowledged the highs of the experience. He spoke about his relationship with Nadal and how much he learned from the Maestro over the past weeks. Alcaraz also expressed disappointment that his time with Nadal was coming to an end.

It has been great for me. I enjoyed it, and I tried to enjoy every single second that we played together. I think we've played great points, great rallies, great matches. But I'm a little bit disappointed right now. I mean, we had the chance to spend time together outside the court here in this tournament. We could spend more time and talk so much about life. That's what I'm gonna keep for me.
Carlos Alcaraz said via Express.co.uk.

Nonetheless, the Olympics medal dream is not over yet for Alcaraz, who is still going strong in the singles side of the tournament. He is currently one of the frontrunners for a gold medal.

But of course I will be supporting him from home and wishing him all the very best every single time and even if I keep playing or not, I love tennis and I will be around less than before.
Rafael Nadal added on to the relationship.

Alcaraz will take on Tommy Paul in the quarterfinal of the Olympics today. Both of them have a great feel for the tennis balls and have produced absurd shots in the past. They faced each other a month ago at Wimbledon with Alcaraz victorious. Paul will be seeking revenge and a chance for a medal as the only American left in the draw.
