Carlos Alcaraz added plenty of feathers to his cap this week as he lifted his second consecutive Wimbledon trophy. The prodigal Spaniard has been hailed as one of the greatest 21-year-olds by Novak Djokovic on account of his incredible performances.
He demonstrated another such performance yesterday against Djokovic himself, brutally dispatching the Serb 6-2, 6-2, 7-6(4). By doing so, he broke several records and also created new ones.
In one of his press conferences, he was asked what all these records mean to him and if he ever thinks about them. Humble and dedicated as ever, Alcaraz mentioned that he is happy with how his career has started and emphasized on what his bigger goals are.
Obviously I’ve seen and I heard all the stats. That I’m the youngest to win Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same year.. to win whatever. I try not to think about it too much. It’s a really great start of my career. I have to keep going. I have to keep building my path.Carlos Alcaraz said via Wimbledon Press
Alcaraz already has more Grand Slams than any member of the Big 3 had when they were his age. In fact, Federer and Djokovic won their first Slams at 21 years old.
At the end of my career, I want to sit at the same table as the big guys. That’s my main goal. That’s my dream right now. It doesn’t matter that I already won 4 Grand Slams at 21. If I don’t keep going in these tournaments, for me it doesn’t matter. I really want to keep going. I’ll try to keep winning and end my career with a lot of them.Carlos Alcaraz added
The promise that the Spanish youngster is showing is undeniable, and he is sure to achieve his goals if he does not face any setbacks with his fitness like many great players have before.

Their entry into the Olympics men’s doubles draw was officially confirmed recently, invoking excitement in fans globally. Alcaraz is also eager to kick off his first Olympics, where he will be playing both singles and doubles.
After Nadal posted a congratulatory post for Alcaraz after his Wimbledon win, the youngster thanked the 22-time champion for his support and also expressed that he could not wait to partner the legend later this month as he typed “pronto’’ followed by the French flag.
