For a sportsperson, a routine plays an important role as it helps the player prepare for important matches. And a good routine ensures the player stays in shape, avoids injuries and fatigue, and issues caused by food during the matches. For this very reason, Carlos Alcaraz has made some changes to his routine which he revealed during one of his press conferences at the ongoing Wimbledon.

Alcaraz encountered some problems during his first-round match against Estonia’s Mark Lajal before displaying his complete dominance in the third set. The second-round clash with Aleksandar Vukic was an easy win for Alcaraz after some initial hiccups in the first set.

I’ve changed a little bit lately. I go to bed early, I eat well, I focus 24 hours a day on tennis, I focus on everything I can do to perform better on the court. I also try to use the phone less, which has been difficult for me (laughs). I deal with some things, I go to bed early, I try to respect the hours of sleep, and do everything in my power to perform better on the court.

Alcaraz kicked off his Wimbledon campaign after his second-round elimination at the Queen’s Club Championships. He will next face America’s 29th seed Frances Tiafoe on July 5th.

Carlos Alcaraz has a warning for Frances Tiafoe ahead of their clash

Carlos Alcaraz has met Frances Tiafoe twice in his career and holds a 1-1 head-to-head record over him. Tomorrow’s meeting will be their second one at a Grand Slam level and Alcaraz has sent a warning to his good friend that he won’t be less merciless during the match.

I have a great relationship with him, as with many tennis players off the court, but on the court, no one is my friend.
Carlos Alcaraz said at the press conference

Their previous major meeting was at the 2022 US Open semifinal. Alcaraz recalled that match and is hoping this time not to play another five-setter against the American. The Spaniard thinks the atmosphere at Wimbledon will be different from what it was at the US Open where Tiafoe was a home favorite.
