Carlos Alcaraz‘s fondness for tattoos is no secret. He likes to have a tattoo to celebrate his special wins and had planned to have another one after the Paris Olympics.
But the 21-year-old, during his campaign at the Cincinnati Open said he won’t be getting his fifth tattoo (Olympic rings), because he failed to win the gold medal. In the final, he faced Serbian legend Novak Djokovic and despite giving his all, he lost the match 7-6(3), 7-6(2).
No, because I didn’t get the gold! If I could have won the gold medal, I would have gotten a tattoo.Carlos Alcaraz told the press
The World No. 3 has the ‘CCC’ tattoo as a tribute to his grandfather. His other three tattoos commemorate his Grand Slam victories. The date of his win at the 2022 US Open has been inked above his right elbow.
Two strawberry-shaped tattoos on his right ankle were for his first win at the Wimbledon in 2023. The Spaniard then painted his left ankle with an Eiffel Tower following his victory at the French Open for the first time in 2024.
Carlos Alcaraz is unsure of whether he will play another Olympic final
Carlos Alcaraz talked about the difficulties of reaching the Olympic final. He referenced compatriot Rafael Nadal‘s campaigns in the quadrennial event to express his doubt about having another chance of winning the gold medal.

Nadal became the champion in singles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics but failed to make it to the summit clash in the next editions. He however took home the gold medal in doubles in the 2016 Rio Games.
Obviously, nobody knows what’s going to happen in the future, if I’m going to reach the final again. For example, Rafael Nadal won the gold medal in 2008 and he couldn’t make the final again in the Olympic Games. I’m probably going to have another chance in the future, but I’m not sure about it.Carlos Alcaraz said at the press conference
At the Cincinnati Open, Alcaraz will face the winner of the clash between Gael Monfils and Alexei Popyrin in his opening match to start his preparations for the US Open. Last year at the Cincinnati Open, Alcaraz lost to Novak Djokovic in three sets in the final. Apart from the Olympic silver, Alcaraz has won three titles (Indian Wells, French Open, and Wimbledon) on the ATP Tour.
