Carlos Alcaraz recently quizzed fans on social media about the best name that would represent his partnership with Rafael Nadal at the Olympic Games in Paris. The 21-year-old finally revealed a name for the partnership.

The famous partnership has been in the spotlight since its announcement in June. Alcaraz is fresh off from his French Open and Wimbledon triumph. Despite a poor start, since March, he has regrouped winning three titles already. He remains the only player to have beaten World No.1 Jannik Sinner twice this year.

On the other hand, Nadal featured in only six tournaments this year. The 38-year-old performed impressively in his last event at the Nordea Open where he reached the final. Although he lost the title to Portugal’s Nuno Borges due to fatigue, the Spaniard was delighted with the result. He will certainly be heading into the Paris Olympics with more confidence than he had a week ago.

Alcaraz is competing in his maiden Olympic Games but wouldn’t be bothered as he will be alongside Nadal, who is playing at the event for the fourth time. Both complement each other as they will come alive on the Roland Garros court.

Rafael Nadal convinced he will play at a great level alongside his partner Carlos Alcaraz at the Olympic Games

Rafael Nadal is convinced that he will do well alongside his partner Carlos Alcaraz. Nadal had a good partnership with Casper Ruud at the Nordea Open winning two matches to reach the semifinals. However, he withdrew from doubles after reaching the final of the singles event.

Nadal and Alcaraz are one of the favorites to pick the doubles gold medal. But Nadal is not hoping on paper reports but is determined to work hard and play good tennis.

I know that if I can play good tennis on an individual level, I'll do well in doubles too, but I have to analyse what happened this week and work hard. I'm convinced that Carlos Alcaraz will be at a great level because he's coming in with confidence. We'll train together this week.

Alcaraz is a singles specialist but Nadal is no stranger to pairing at the Olympic Games. He won a doubles gold medal at Rio 2016. However, despite Alcaraz’s inexperience, the 38-year-old is expected to complement his compatriot in pace and skills.
