Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has reflected on his young career, already filled with remarkable milestones and achievements. At just 21 years old, he has played less than 25% of his professional tennis career but has achieved things most players only dream of.

Alcaraz has expressed pride in his accomplishments so far. However, the former World No. 1 believes there is still much more to achieve in the coming seasons.

Obviously, I’ve heard all the statistics about the fact that I’m the youngest player to win Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same year. I try not to think about it too much, really. It’s a very good start to my career, but I have to keep going. I don’t know what my limit is. I don’t want to think about it. I just want to keep enjoying my moment and keep dreaming. We’ll see how many Grand Slams I have at the end of my career – 25, 30, 15 or 4. I don’t know. All I want to say is that I want to keep enjoying myself and see what the future holds for me.

I am very happy with the work I am doing with my team. I am very proud of myself and everything I am achieving. And I am also very proud of the people around my team. Everything we have done so far has been incredible. I am looking forward to moving forward, to improve, to grow, to try to win. That is the only thing that matters to me right now.

Alcaraz also reached the Olympic gold medal match in Paris but lost to Novak Djokovic. Heading into the Australian Open next year, the Spaniard will aim to complete a career Grand Slam.

Carlos Alcaraz shares reasons for his shortcomings at the ATP Finals

Carlos Alcaraz reflected on missed opportunities during his match against Alexander Zverev at the Nitto ATP Finals. The loss to the German player means the Spaniard is eliminated from the tournament. The defeat also gives Zverev a 6-5 lead in their Lexus ATP Head2Head record.

The tie-break was pretty close, with a lot of points I could have played better. At 6/5, I don’t know what I was thinking when I tried to volley that ball… That’s tennis for you; you have to make choices in less than a second and sometimes you get it wrong. Losing the set in that way hurts. In the second, I was at 0/40 after several stupid points and I was in trouble. I have to learn from these moments because I didn’t make the most of the chances I had.

Carlos Alcaraz said in the post-match press conference

Alcaraz will now shift his focus to the Davis Cup Final 8. He will team up with Rafael Nadal to represent Spain in the competition. The young star is determined to put the loss behind him and perform well for his country.

Earlier in the week, Alcaraz battled illness but managed to compete with the help of antibiotics and rest. He also wore a nose strip during his matches to help him breathe better. These efforts allowed him to stay in the competition despite his struggles.

Alcaraz showed resilience and believed he could turn his situation around, as he had done in 2023. While his run in Turin may end sooner than he hoped, his focus is now on future challenges with a positive mindset.
