Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz has had all eyes on him after he suffered an injury to his right forearm. The youngster withdrew from the Monte Carlo Masters just hours before his first game, citing the injury. He suffered a pronator tear injury, which forced him to withdraw.

However, fans signed a breath of life when Alcaraz did not say anything about his participation at the Barcelona Open. But in a rather unfortunate turn of events, that dream seems to be shattered yet again.

For the uninitiated, after Monte Carlo, the Tour heads to Barcelona, where Alcaraz is the defending champion. Unfortunately, he withdrew from the Barcelona Open as well, citing discomfort in the right arm.

With that being said, it seems like this injury is taking a huge toll on the 20-year-old, who has had a fair number of injuries already. Right after the Australian Open, the Spaniard suffered a minor ankle injury, which he carried to Indian Wells, and won the Masters despite the injury.

While his ankle healed, he suffered another injury to his right forearm. He was seen with a heavily taped arm as he withdrew from Monaco, and the injury continues to haunt the Spaniard, who isn’t ready to be back.

Barcelona Open defending champion withdraws, allowing Rafael Nadal to be one of the strong favorites

With Rafael Nadal also deciding to participate in one of his best tournaments, the fans gear up for the Spaniard to play again. With Nadal having won this tournament 12 other times, he will hope to get back in form here.

Other than the Spaniard, even Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud, and Stefanos Tsitsipas are some of the players to watch out for.

The draw for the tournament is out, and Nadal will play the first match in the main draw. He was placed in the same half as Alcaraz, but with the Spaniard out of the tournament, the path got a little easier for Nadal.
