Spanish tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz has established himself on the men’s tour. With four Grand Slam titles to his name, the 21-year-old is already a superstar. While he influences people around him, his brother Jaime Alcaraz is also following in the footsteps of his elder brother.

The 13-year-old also showed some glimpses of his gameplay, which looked similar to Carlos. The video of Jaime hitting shots around the tennis court gained significant attention on social media. This led to comparisons between the two brothers and Carlos is worried about those comparisons.

When asked about his brother’s slow rise in tennis, the former World No. 1 first talked about the funny part of his brother trying to copy him, like his hairstyle for instance. Carlos also spoke about his brother’s potential and touched upon the problems that come up with comparisons.

I hear from my mother that he asked the barber to make my same haircut. So, it is funny. Honestly, he plays well, I am not gonna lie. He is playing at a good level. But there are people around. There are videos and some accounts on social media saying that ‘he is gonna be like his brother’. I don’t really like that. I want to tell all those people and social media to leave him alone.

Carlos Alcaraz said

Carlos is worried that Jaime getting attention just because of him is unfair and also that the comparisons might put some added pressure on the youngster. However, the older brother said he is there for him always and is looking forward to playing against him one day.

Jaime Alcaraz might not be as good as Carlos Alcaraz was at his age but the 13-year-old is no rookie either. The youngest of all Alcaraz brothers, Jaime complemented Carlos’ Wimbledon title win by a Rafa Nadal Tour heat in the under-12 category in Madrid.

In a 48-player draw at the Club Internacional de Tenis Monte del Pilar, the Murcia native enjoyed a successful campaign, turning plenty of heads along the way. Jaime won the title seven years after Carlos triumphed on the same circuit.

As the fourth seed, he only dropped two sets in the five matches he required to claim the trophy. The brother of the recent Wimbledon champion claimed a 6-1, 1-6, 10/1 victory over Madrid native Beltrán Serrano, one of the best players in Spain in his age group.

The Rafa Nadal Tour is a charity tennis circuit that was conceived in 2014 by the former World No. 1 to benefit the Rafa Nadal Foundation. Held annually, it includes under-12, under-14, and under-16 categories for both boys and girls.
