New York Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodon will start for the team in Game 2 against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium. On the other hand, pitcher Clarke Schmidt will start Game 3 at Yankees Stadium on Monday night.
The Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series remains one of the most hyped matches as the teams will face off against one another after 43 years. However, the Yankees are rather excited to face the “potent” Dodgers lineup rather than nervous for the big stage.
Rodon boldly declared on media that he believes their lineup is also pretty dangerous and can face off against the Dodgers at the World Series. Moreover, he believes they are “better” than LA in terms of roster capability.
Carlos Rodón was asked about facing the Dodgers lineup:

"They have good hitters, but we're here for a reason. I think our lineup is just as good. I honestly think we're better, I'm biased. I'm a big leaguer too, I'm supposed to get those guys out. That's what I'm paid for" pic.twitter.com/nceFcHtyzX
Carlos Rodon further added that, being a big leaguer himself, he shouldn’t be nervous about facing one of the top teams in MLB. “I’m supposed to get those guys out and that’s what I’m paid for,” he added.
Rodon is expected to face off against Dodgers rookie star Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Some of the notable Dodgers players in the World Series apart from Yamamoto are – Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman.
Looking at this lineup, Rodon claimed, “This lineup’s pretty potent”, but he’s not afraid to face them. Talking about last year’s slump, Carlos Rodon commented that it wasn’t easy to bounce back and get in form.
But 2024 has been a turning point in his career. He recorded 16-9 with a 3.96 ERA in the regular season. Meanwhile, he went 1-1 in the playoffs with a 4.40 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 14 innings.

Aaron Boone once proudly stated that Cole remains one of the team’s key pillars and has proved himself “one of this era’s aces.” As for Rodon, it’s not his first time at the Dodgers Stadium. He is well aware of the atmosphere and is focused on “go out there and win the baseball game.”
