The New York Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodon is confident in facing Shohei Ohtani at the plate during the faceoff against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. While he praised Ohtani for being Ohtani, he reminded everyone that “anybody is pitchable”.
Players from both teams can’t wait for Friday night’s opening as it’ll not only be a star-studded field, but will also be two teams who haven’t faced each other in the World Series in 43 years. It is also the Yankees’ first time since 2009 that they qualified for the big stage.
The pinstripes are eager to face a head-on battle against some of the league’s best players. While they clashed during the regular season games, the World Series thrill can’t be measured.
Manager Aaron Boone is also excited for the Fall Classic to begin. It’s been decades since the two rival cities faced against each other on the big stage. The teams, fans, and even sports personalities from different corners of the world will be looking forward to the World Series on Friday.
Nestor Cortes confident in pitching at the World Series
Despite ailing injury to the elbow, New York Yankees pitcher Nestor Cortes boldly claimed that he is willing to pitch in the World Series regardless of the consequences. It’s not hard to know why.
The game is extremely crucial for any MLB team, especially the Yankees who have not qualified for the big stage in the last 15 years. Cortes said, if he could help the team win, he’d gladly do so, and think about surgery or further medical attention later.
"If I have a ring and then a year off from baseball, then so be it."

While the club may include him as a relief pitcher in the game, they will not be pulling him into the lineup to play in full mode. Cortes himself stated that he may be restricted to throwing 20 to 30 pitches but he’s confident “I know I’m able to do it.”
Nestor Cortes admitted that it was tough to just watch and not be able to do anything. He’s proud of what the team has done against the Cleveland Guardians in the ALCS series, and he’ll now do his best to carry them forward.
