WWE has been making several updates to its roster page recently. Following multiple talent releases last month, another major name has now been let go. Rumors had suggested Carmella’s WWE tenure was nearing its end, but many expected the company to renew her contract. However, in a surprising move, WWE has officially released the former Women’s Champion.
According to Fightful, Carmella was released as soon as her contract expired this month, with WWE opting not to renew her deal. Later on, the Stamford-based promotion also moved her from the active star to the alumni section on the roster page. With that, her decade-long tenure with the company has officially come to an end—for now.
In 2023, The Princess of Staten Island took a maternity break from WWE. After giving birth, she faced complications due to a flat foot, making her in-ring return uncertain. Despite her efforts to stage a comeback, neither she nor WWE ever confirmed any plans for her return. Now, she seems ready to embrace life beyond wrestling, focusing on motherhood.

Carmella’s last WWE match took place on March 6, 2023, against Bianca Belair on Raw, marking the end of her decade-long career with the company. Throughout her tenure, she built an impressive legacy, becoming the first-ever Ms. Money in the Bank and successfully cashing in on Charlotte Flair in 2018. While her career had its ups and downs, she delivered memorable matches against top stars.
Carmella joins the list of many talented WWE stars released from WWE this month
WWE has released several superstars over the past month, with some departures sparking controversy and others shocking fans worldwide. Before parting ways with Carmella, the company also released her former tag team partner Sonya Deville and the talented Blair Davenport.

Additionally, WWE parted ways with several other stars who were actively involved in storylines, including Cedric Alexander and AOP. Former Women’s Tag Team Champion Isla Dawn was also released in a controversial manner. Even Giovanni Vinci, who had been gaining traction, was among those let go.
Carmella’s release has sparked another wave of controversy, as she was a fan favorite. While she has yet to comment on her WWE exit, her fans have flooded social media, criticizing WWE and Triple H for what they see as frustrating booking decisions regarding the women’s division.
