WWE recently released former Women’s Champion Carmella from her contract in a highly controversial move. Many expected The Princess of Staten Island to make a return at some point, but that never materialized. Mella later revealed how she was treated abruptly before her departure. In the aftermath, the 37-year-old dismissed any possibility of returning to WWE.

Speaking on Barely Famous with Kail Lowry, the former Women’s Champion stated that she has no desire to return to a place that doesn’t want her. She compared her WWE departure to a breakup, emphasizing that once the other party wants to move on, there’s no point in holding on. Carmella made it clear that a WWE return is off the table, as she has firmly closed that chapter of her career.

Why would you want to be somewhere that doesn’t want you? It’s like you’re in a relationship and someone is trying to break up with you. ‘No, don’t leave me. I promise.’ No, you’re not wanted in that relationship. It’s not for me, and I truly feel that door is closed.

A few days ago, the 37-year-old was moved from WWE’s active roster page to the alumni section. Following this, reports confirmed her release. Carmella has since made some shocking revelations about her experience with WWE. She claimed that she felt punished for being pregnant, expressing her disappointment with how the Stamford-based promotion handled her situation.

The Princess of Staten Island claimed that WWE lacks gender equality, stating that the company never gave her a true opportunity to solidify her place. Her remarks have sparked controversy, with many WWE fans criticizing her stance. While Carmella has responded to some of the backlash, the overwhelming wave of criticism remains largely beyond her control.

Carmella has been outspoken about her WWE exit in recent days. In the same conversation on Barely Famous, the former Women’s Champion revealed that she had pitched the idea of becoming a manager in WWE after announcing her pregnancy. She suggested aligning herself with a women’s tag team, using her mic experience to mentor and elevate other female superstars. Initially, WWE showed interest in the concept, but it ultimately never materialized.

I had an idea of working with this tag team and being a manager. Carmella is a huge personality and I love talking on the microphone, so let me help another team out.

However, by the end of July 2023, WWE abruptly stopped communicating with her about the idea. Mella stated that she received no response on whether the company wanted to scrap or move forward with the plan. She described this as the beginning of something suspicious, sensing that her relationship with WWE was beginning to deteriorate.
