Bogdan Bogdanovic annoyed Team USA players in their semifinal game at the Paris Olympics when he celebrated scoring for his country with a signature Carmelo Anthony sign. Following that celebration, he received taunts from the USA camp after Serbia eventually succumbed to a defeat. However, it appears Anthony didn’t take the incident to heart, and instead decided to let love lead.

The former basketball veteran was present in the crowd to watch Serbia’s victory over Germany and finish third place with a bronze medal. After the game, Anthony walked over to Bogdanovic on the court and gave him a warm embrace. It was a beautiful sight to behold as the NBA legend struck out any thoughts of him holding a grudge against the Hawks player, with that singular act.

The Serbia captain was definitely overjoyed with the unexpected show of support from the 40-year-old, as he could be seen smiling into the camera. Carmelo Anthony may also have likely congratulated Bogdan Bogdanovic for winning the bronze medal, as the pair were seen displaying all good vibes during the moment.

Given the fact that Anthony has now taken quick steps to lower the tensions between the Serbian star and USA players, it remains to be seen how stars like Devin Booker respond. The Phoenix Suns’ guard had taken issue with Bogdanovic immediately after that celebration, telling him to “respect the legends” in a social media post after their game. LeBron James also appeared to mock the Serb during the game, when he bent down to give the ‘too small’ gesture to Bogdanovic. This was after James had risen up to hit a jumper over him.

Carmelo Anthony gives shoutout to Bogdan Bogdanovic after USA’s victory over Serbia

Following the defeat of the Serbs by the USA in the semifinals of the Olympics, Anthony did not feel so concerned about the use of his famous celebration by Bogdanovic. He went on to give a shoutout to the Atlanta Hawks forward, likely in the spirit of true sportsmanship.

Indeed, it was the Serbian star who on Friday shared the Instagram comment from Anthony which reads “Respec7“, on his social media page on X (formerly Twitter).

It turns out that after the game; Carmelo Anthony appeared in the comment section of Bogdan Bogdanovic’s post on Instagram to send some support. The way the basketball legend sees it, his “Three to the Dome” gesture isn’t an offence if someone else uses it to celebrate.
