Former USA basketball legend, Carmelo Anthony has been one of the best players for his country in international stages. In addition, young stars have looked up to him and his mind-blowing scoring abilities on the court. Notably, Team Serbia star Bogdan Bogdanavoic “paid tribute” to Anthony in the semi-finals against Team USA at the Paris Olympics, by mimicking Anthony’s celebration as he scored against the United States.

However, during the ‘7 PM in Brooklyn’ broadcast, Anthony discussed his trip to Paris to witness Team USA play Serbia in the Olympic semi-finals. While discussing Bogdanovic replicating his celebration, he stated that he took no offense and understood Bogi was sending him love. He appreciated Bogdanovic’s game and expressed regret that he couldn’t give him his flowers in that “tense” moment.

Bogdanovic also commented after the game, explaining why he made the motion and clarifying that he was not attempting to disrespect Melo, but rather to express his love and admiration. Interestingly, Anthony has long valued Bogdanovic’s gameplay as a basketball professional, and he was bringing him flowers as a tribute to his memorable gesture at the Paris Olympics.

Devin Booker was not a big fan of Bogdan Bogdanovic imitating Carmelo Anthony’s celebration

Team Serbia star Bogdan Bogdanovic stole the headlines against Team USA in the semi-finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics despite being on the losing side. This is due to Bogdanovic imitating Carmelo Anthony’s celebration did not go down well with Team USA star Devin Booker. Notably, Booker took to Instagram to remind the Serbian to “respect the legends.”

On the other hand, the mutual respect between Anthony and Bogdanovic was apparent when the Atlanta Hawks guard sent a shoutout to the former scoring champion. In addition, Anthony congratulated Bogdanovic after Serbia won the bronze medal against Germany.

Bogdanovic had a tremendous game versus Team USA, scoring 20 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Serbia did not win Gold, but they did clinch the bronze medal by defeating Germany. When the players returned to Serbia with their medals, they were greeted with an outlandish wave of cheer by the supporters.
