On the latest episode of SmackDown, LA Knight made his intentions loud and clear. The Megastar revealed that he will be gunning for the United States Championship. While cutting a promo backstage, he was interrupted by Carmelo Hayes. The latter tried to get under Knight’s skin by talking trash. However, while doing so, he botched the veteran’s name.
Hayes accidentally referred to Logan Paul as “LA.” Knight instantly corrected the former NXT Champion by raising doubts about how he could face himself. As such, the 29-year-old star took to X following the segment and acknowledged the mistake that he made. Moreover, he seemingly trolled fans online who claimed that he would be sent back to NXT due to the botch.
For weeks, Carmelo Hayes and LA Knight have been at loggerheads on the blue brand. The recently drafted star stirred the pot by interrupting The Megastar during the King and Queen of the Ring tournament. On the go-home episode of SmackDown, Knight teamed with The Street Profits to defeat the arrogant trio of Hayes, Grayson Waller, and Austin Theory.

The former Eli Drake was on the hunt for the United States Champion last night. However, he will have to deal with HIM first, as the two are expected to settle their differences in the coming weeks. As for The Maverick, he was closely watching what transpired and has responded to Knight’s callout.
Logan Paul breaks silence on LA Knight calling him out on SmackDown
In a series of backstage segments, WWE confirmed Logan Paul’s next challenger for the US title. LA Knight finally called out The Maverick on SmackDown. As such, the latter responded to the 41-year-old via a video message on social media.
Paul laughed at the idea of Knight coming after his championship. The Social Media Megastar claimed that he didn’t care about the veteran or what he wanted. Instead, the YouTuber-turned-wrestler affirmed that he was in a relaxed mood at the moment, showing off his title and fiancee.
Since Paul won the US Championship at Crown Jewel, many instantly speculated that Knight would be the one to dethrone. Therefore, there was confusion among fans when the match didn’t take place at WrestleMania. Having said that, WWE has decided to pull the trigger now on the much-anticipated rivalry.
