On the first SmackDown episode of 2025, Carmelo Hayes picked a fight with The OG Bloodline. Although he didn’t intend to, Hayes ended up in a confrontation with Sami Zayn and The Usos backstage. Initially, the 30-year-old star approached Zayn about their match last week. During the conversation, Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso backed their teammate as Hayes walked away from the frame.

Reacting to this turn of events, Hayes took to his X account. The former NXT Champion demanded a match against any one of The Usos. Moreover, Hayes hilariously claimed that he had reversals for all four of The Usos’ moves. This is a reference to the longest-reigning Tag Team Champions’ lack of wrestling maneuvers. In fact, it became a focal talking point on social media following the underwhelming Jey vs. Jimmy match at WrestleMania.

Nonetheless, Hayes has shown that he is not afraid to challenge anyone on the SmackDown roster. Since moving to the blue brand, ‘HIM’ has squared off against some of the biggest stars in WWE. Carmelo Hayes faced Cody Rhodes twice and even pinned Randy Orton during a triple-threat Money in the Bank qualifier.

The latest name on his list was Sami Zayn‘s. The two squared off on last week’s episode of SmackDown. Hayes took the former Intercontinental Champion to his limit. However, the enthralling bout ended following interference from Braun Strowman and The Bloodline. After their back-and-forth on Friday, it will be interesting to see if Zayn and Hayes settle their differences in the near future.

Kevin Owens warns The Usos on SmackDown; sparks fan theories online

Shortly after the aforementioned segment, Sami Zayn left The Usos to prepare for their main event match. As Jimmy and Jey walked elsewhere, Kevin Owens bumped into the latter. Owens then told The Usos to watch their backs before walking off.

Interestingly, this was similar to what Drew McIntyre told Cody Rhodes in the opening segment before Owens jumped his rival from behind. It has led many to believe that McIntyre and Owens might be in cahoots.

After all, the duo has common enemies in the form of The Bloodline and has been wronged in situations where they feel that they’re right. Another star who might soon join the frame is Seth Rollins. The Visionary has openly voiced his distaste for both Roman Reigns and CM Punk, which could lead to him siding with McIntyre and Owens.
