Caroline Garcia praised Nick Kyrgios for his attitude following a “raw conversation” with the Aussie in a recent podcast session. Kyrgios, who defended Garcia for the hate messages she received after her early exit from the US Open, was recently accused by fans of being misogynistic at Anna Kalinskaya.
Garcia gained support on social media after revealing that she had suffered abuse for losing to Renata Zarazua in the first round of the US Open. She shared some screenshots of the numerous abusive messages from trolls. The French player had accused tennis betting of being responsible for it. Several tennis players defended her. Notable among them was Nick Kyrgios.
A few days ago, the Aussie shared a misogynistic reaction to a social media picture of him and his ex-girlfriend and WTA star Anna Kalinskaya. Kalinskaya, who is now dating Jannik Sinner, has on a few occasions been seen in the box during the US Open. Kyrgios has been a huge critic of Sinner, since his doping saga. The Aussie was calling for a two-year ban for the World No.1 after he didn’t get any ban despite testing positive for clostebol.

But how can you support someone like @NickKyrgios , who is just as bad, if not worse, than the people you posted about?https://t.co/3dvwMd8e5i
To think that you shared your frustration over online harassment and then come out and call this bully who goes beyond harassment to physical assaults and making misogynistic remarks about women. Don’t you think you are being hypocritical? I really liked you and supported you.

Nick Kyrgios once made a misogynistic, wildly inappropriate comment about a WTA player, drew the anger of her ATP player boyfriend, his coach, and much of the locker room…but didn’t face real consequence, dismissed, as it was, as youthful indiscretion. That was 2015. He's 29…

Please Caro… I understand you can have that conversation but he has derailed completely with his comments including @WTA women. Stop promoting this guy or your image will just go the wrong way

Kyrgios is yet to play professional tennis since 2023. While he is recovering from injury, he has momentarily switched to commentary and even recently worked with ESPN at the US Open.
