Basketball star Lebron James is by far the biggest star competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 39-year-old accolades have made him one of the greatest players of all time in the NBA. However, Casper Ruud believes Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic should be rated higher than the American.

James’ first experience at the Olympics was at the 2004 Athens Games, where he led the USA basketball team to a bronze medal. Four years later in Beijing, he won gold with the team and repeated the feat at the 2012 London Games. He is currently the all-time leading scorer in NBA history with 38,652 regular season points.

On the other hand, Nadal and Djokovic are one of the best players to have ever graced the tennis court. The duo have won over 180 titles, including 42 Grand Slams. The latter is competing in his fifth Olympics and won a bronze in Beijing 2008, while the former is a two-time gold medalist.

Ruud took to social media and gave his thoughts on James, Nadal, and Djokovic.

I agree that LeBron James is the biggest star of the Paris Olympics. But I think what Novak and Rafa have done from a purely sporting point of view is unique, even if I am not objective.

Djokovic defeated Australia’s Matthew Ebden in the first round, while Nadal will take on Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics on Sunday (July 28). James, meanwhile, will lead USA’s basketball team against Serbia on Sunday.

Although he has reached a career-high of World No. 2, he is yet to win a Grand Slam title despite reaching the finals thrice. He is hoping to win a medal for Norway in Paris to inspire kids to believe they can compete with the best athletes from other countries.

It's blooming with all these sports and athletes doing well. It's fun to be part of that group. I think the ultimate goal, or hope, is that we can also inspire kids back home, to believe that you don't have to be from America, or Spain, or a big country, to be able to do well.

Ruud is considered a strong play on clay courts. Earlier this year, he won the Barcelona Open and finished as the runner-up at the Monte-Carlo Masters. He also reached the semifinals of the French Open.
