A’ja Wilson and Angel Reese have decided to spend this offseason not playing basketball. Other than their desire to spend time with their respective families, the two WNBA stars have extended their talents to other avenues.

The Chicago Sky star, for instance, has made her mark in the fashion world after she became the first professional athlete to walk the hallowed Victoria’s Secret runway. Then she took time to continue her philanthropic work through her foundation. Other than this, she also expanded her ventures into business, becoming an investor in a skincare brand.

Wilson has not been working with her sponsors much. Instead, she has ensured that the majority of her time is dedicated to boyfriend Bam Adebayo.

It’s a new space, and everything I try to do is about shining light on other talented people that can have great experiences right there with me. It should be fun for everybody, no matter what background you have.

Stephen Curry told Natalie Esquire

The Golden State Warriors superstar said this when Natalie Esquire asked him about casting A’ja Wilson and Angel Reese in his animated production, ‘GOAT’.

The LSU star is going to voice the character of Propp, the bear. The 4-time league MVP, on the other hand, is going to voice the character of Kouyate, an alligator. Stephen Curry also doubles up as a voice actor, as he will play Lenny, a giraffe.

Fans will be able to watch the trio, along with many other characters, when the movie hits theatres on February 13th. It will be Wilson’s first foray into movies, but it will be Reese’s second after A House of Dynamite.

Angel Reese traveled with Magic to Berlin, whereas A’ja Wilson stays in Miami

Other than their forays into the movie world, Angel Reese and A’ja Wilson have mostly been spending time with their respective better halves.

The latter’s relationship with Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo is already public and official after Wilson hard-launched them during her jersey retirement at South Carolina.

In the offseason, she has been a constant by her beau, sitting courtside and cheering him on during Heat games. Most of her appearances have been at the Kaseya Center, which indicates the reigning Finals MVP might not be traveling to road games.

That is not the case with her GOAT co-star, as Reese has traveled to many Orlando Magic road games to support boyfriend Wendell Carter Jr.

The 23-year-old was even on the team flight to Berlin, Germany. She was seen sitting courtside with her mother, wearing a custom Magic-themed outfit, as she watched her boyfriend’s team stage a second-half comeback and win against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Angel Reese and A’ja Wilson await new CBA to start training camp

While Angel Reese can still get some basketball miles under her belt before the next season starts, with the USA Basketball team at the FIBA qualifiers, A’ja Wilson might not be so lucky.

The latter needs to know when the next CBA will be signed, as only then can she start negotiating her next contract with her Las Vegas Aces.

Wilson can use the help of trainers and basketball coaches to get herself dialed in. But she cannot return to her team unless the next CBA is signed by both the league and the players’ union. With the deal still being ironed out, franchise owners, front-office executives, coaches, and players are scratching their heads, wondering when they can start building their 2026 roster.

Angel Reese and her fellow young players who are still on their rookie contracts will start training as soon as the CBA is signed. But A’ja Wilson and the near 80 % of free agents will first have to sign contracts before they can link up with their teammates.
