Kevin Owens is many things, but he’s always on the ball for his friends in real life. An epitome of that trait was on full display recently when the 40-year-old was enjoying a Dune Baggy with Cathy Kelley in Saudi Arabia. However, that turned nightmarish for both as the sand rail malfunctioned, and they rolled almost four times aboard the buggy.
Cathy, the backstage WWE correspondent, joined B4TheBell, where she opened up about what she believes was the most terrifying moment of her life. She disclosed how her running mate Kevin’s first reaction to the accident was to get her out of harm’s way. Kelley said she’d want to credit him for basically saving her life at that point. When the sand car went amok, Cathy grabbed the safety rail.
The 36-year-old female WWE personality affirmed that they were banged up. However, it could’ve easily gotten worse if not for Owens. Both of them managed to walk out of the debacle with little to no injuries. Elsewhere in the interview, Kelley described Kevin as someone whom she’s been friends with for many years.
I kind of credit him for saving my life in that moment. We rolled three and a half times in a dune buggy. He said his initial instinct was to protect me.

Needless to say, after that traumatizing backfire in Arabia, the bond between them must’ve gotten up a notch. Owens first referenced the Dune Buggy incident on WWE TV while speaking to Cathy Kelley herself. After the Crown Jewel pre-show event, The Prizefighter accused Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes of paying off the car driver to ensure he ran into trouble even while pulling off such a recreational activity.
A day later, the former Universal Champion displayed how vicious he could be when he obliterated Orton at Crown Jewel. Two weeks ago, Kevin piledrived Randy on SmackDown, rendering him impotent. Now, he’s out indefinitely.
Kevin Owens slated to meet Cody Rhodes on SmackDown
This week on SmackDown, Kevin Owens will finally come face-to-face with Cody Rhodes. Since dropping Cody after Bad Blood, Owens has resorted to his evil ways. The Prizefighter has continued to express disappointment with WWE management for mistreating him just because he attacked their so-called golden boy.

Last Friday, Rhodes asked GM Nick Aldis to summon KO. At first, Aldis said that wouldn’t happen, as he’s trying to resolve the matter internally. But after the Undisputed WWE Champion told Nick to put himself in Cody’s shoes once, the general manager was rocked.
Before the end of the show, the fans learned that a segment between Owens and Rhodes was made official for the upcoming SmackDown edition. In a video posted on X, KO explained why he agreed to do the faceoff, saying the fresh air of Utah is good for his health.
