Wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens have been a revelation for the 2025 Dallas Cowboys, helping the offense become one of the best in the league.
Their efforts could have helped quarterback Dak Prescott stay in the MVP race had it not been for the atrocious play their defensive teammates were putting up every game.
It is not that the QB and the rest of the offense were struggling without their primary wideouts, as was evident in the 1st drive of their away game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer benched both his leading offensive weapons after it was revealed that Lamb and Pickens had partied a bit too hard at the Red Rock Casino and were not deemed fit to start the game.
Such disciplinary action proves that the head coach will hold players accountable, even if he hugged both of them later during the game after a touchdown. With rumors revolving around the star wideout duo’s inability to handle liquor, reporters quizzed CeeDee Lamb on whether there was any truth to it.
CeeDee Lamb said he & George Pickens missed curfew before the game at Las Vegas. The two were having dinner and a few drinks at Red Rock Casino. Lamb denied he was throwing up at the casino. He said it’s a disrespect to even suggest that. Lamb said he knows how to hold his liquor.

This was the 4-Time Pro Bowler‘s response, suggesting he knows his limits. Instead, as he revealed, it was because he and Pickens returned to their hotel late, which led to the benching.
CeeDee Lamb has high praise for George Pickens’ change in attitude
Before CeeDee Lamb started spending time off the field with his fellow wide receiver, he was aware of the rumors that followed the latter from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After spending a few months with the former Georgia Bulldog, the 26-year-old has seen enough to know how his previously much-maligned teammate has changed.
We’re going to figure out everything else and how we have to grow as men and as a football player off the field, but other than that, come be you. I feel like, with that, it was very easy for him. He understood that we weren’t trying to change him. We wanted him to come over here and do that, and that he’s doing. He’s actually exceeded that.

The Oklahoma alum believes Pickens has done enough to prove that he was not what the Steelers made him out to be. Now, he is looking to continue competing and earn a fat paycheck.
George Pickens wants to stay with the Cowboys
Now that Jerry Jones has fixed his defense, George Pickens’ contract situation is currently the question he gets asked the most. When reporters caught up with the wide receiver after practice, they asked him if he wanted to stay long-term with America’s Team.
I’d love to be back. Especially with (CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott), all the guys really.

However, the 6′ 3″ wideout avoided questions about continuing on a franchise tag. He wants to earn a deal that would secure him for the next few years and make him a permanent member of the Dallas Cowboys.
