Newly minted CeeDee Lamb knows what Ja’Marr Chase is going through amid the Bengals WR’s contract negotiations lagging even after the season opener. The Dallas Cowboys WR sent his message to the Cincinnati Bengals counterpart in an interview with Kay Adams on her show.

After much drama and deliberations, the tarry Cowboys management and Lamb inked a historic deal last month. The player had gone on a holdout missing practices and meetings. Thankfully, Lamb’s absence hasn’t reciprocated on the team’s performance, at least not the one against the Cleveland Browns.

Lamb has no doubts about the physical capabilities of Chase. He stated that Chase has been playing football for a very long time and he will be ready when he has to. However, Lamb notes that a period like this is tough mentally to be locked in.

I know for him (Chase), it's a very difficult situation mentally. Obviously, physically, he's been playing ball his whole life, so I'm not really worried about him being physically ready. But mentally, be locked in and stay true to yourself again and always just stay true to what you believe in man.
CeeDee Lamb said

Lamb expects a deal soon, with talks ongoing and a result in a few days. He told Adams there’s nothing he can tell Chase that he doesn’t already know, but urged him to stay true to his beliefs and said he’s rooting for him.

I know this is going to be a tough situation for him, and obviously it's going to be an ongoing conversation, because it already started, and everybody's kind of expecting to see his name hit the market.

The player also noted that he would not have played the season opener unless there was a deal on the table. However, Ja’Marr Chase played the Bengals opener against the New England Patriots, showcasing a 6-catch performance amid the embarrassing loss. Furthermore, it is reported that Chase is ready to play with or without an extension for the remainder of the season as they try hard to get a deal.

Joe Burrow believes absence of Ja’Marr Chase from training isn’t the reason for the Game 1 loss

Amid this, Bengals QB Joe Burrow doesn’t believe that Chase missing the preseason has anything to do with their loss. He said there were many mistakes on his and the team’s side during the game.

No, I wouldn’t say that’s accurate.
Joe Burrow on asked if Chase missing training had an impact

On Sunday, the Patriots defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 16-10 to start their season. The Bengals have lost their first game four times in the last five years. Additionally, they are currently on the verge of a third straight season with a 0-2 start as they face champions Kansas City Chiefs next.

The QB also added that they “will just have to watch the tape and learn from it” before their next game. The Bengals have previously started 0-2 and made playoffs in 2021. It is not impossible, but a tricky and unwanted situation. Amongst the 265 teams who started 0-2 from 1960-2022, only 30 made playoffs. An 0-3, however, would be nearly impossible to come from.
