Neil Lennon resigns as manager of Celtic as team trails Rangers by 18 points and fail to win 10 titles in a row
Celtic has played terribly this season despite being second in the Scottish Premiership and trail Steven Gerrard’s Rangers by 18 points. New manager Steven Gerrard’s appointment was met with disappointment and concern but he has scripted a massive turnaround for Rangers this season. The Ibrox side is undefeated in the domestic league and also in the Europa League, while Celtic have had a season to forget.
Mental abuse suffered from fans is a contributing factor to his resignation
Celtic and Neil Lennon departed on mutual consent and a caretaker is most likely to be appointed soon. Rangers are confirmed to win the title if they pick up 7 points from their next 3 games, provided that Celtic don’t drop points against their next two opponents. Adding insult to injury, Rangers play Celtic at Parkhead and could very well lift the trophy there if they defeat them there.
Neil Lennon was expected to lead Celtic to their 10th title in 10 years after their massive domination for 9 years. Such were the arrogance and ego of the Celtic fans that they were singing songs about winning 10 titles in 10 years even before the current season began. This has been a tragic and sudden crashing and burning down for them as their dreams of winning it was crushed.
Rangers were once denied their own 10 in 10 years and now Steven Gerrard has managed to stop Celtic from winning their own 10 in 10 years.
