From being his trainer to being his bitter enemy, Chad Gable‘s relationship with Sami Zayn has evolved a lot since WrestleMania XL. The former Olympian has set his sights on the Intercontinental Championship once again. While the 38-year-old finally has an opportunity to win singles gold, he must deal with Bronson Reed alongside the champion at King & Queen of the Ring PLE.
Chad Gable sent a warning to Sami Zayn with a post on X prior to their match in Saudi Arabia. The Alpha Academy leader called out the champion for his never-ending sneak attacks. He added that the Underdog from the Underground had an incessant need for validation, and he couldn’t just let sleeping dogs lie.

He added that the Intercontinental Champion has earned the punishment that is coming his way. And through suffering, the Minnesota Native had earned the right to bestow it upon him. Lastly, he mentioned that he had never been so giddy before a match.

On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, the former NXT Champion interfered in a match between Chad Gable and Bronson Reed. The match ended due to disqualification, and the Australian was left standing tall after the brawl. In a backstage segment, the Intercontinental Champion announced that he would be putting his title on the line against both men at the King & Queen of the Ring PLE.
Sami Zayn compares working under Vince McMahon and Triple H
In an interview with Gorilla Position, Sami Zayn was asked whether creative decisions were more of a collaborative process under the new leadership. The champion mentioned that, in some aspects, it definitely was. However, Triple H still made the final call regarding all things under that department. Regardless, there was much more freedom as a performer.

He mentioned that Vince McMahon had his way about things, and it was successful. While people can point their fingers at him in hindsight, he has a working formula. However, he claimed that they were working in a box. While he described the process as great, he thought talent was often painted into these boxes and stayed there.
Boxes, we were working in a box, there's no question about that. But those boxes get built because of success. But now, you have a new visionary, so that box gets opened up a bit. I think over a long enough timeline, we have to be very conscious of what we're doing to not just be in a new box.Sami Zayn on the Gorilla Position
However, this was no longer the case since the WWE cut ties with Vince McMahon due to the Janel Grant lawsuit. The formerly known El Generico mentioned that they had a new visionary, and the box opened up a bit. Under the new regime, there was no question that in the week-to-week stuff and how one executes, there was much more freedom as a performer.
