Clash at the Castle saw the cracks between the Alpha Academy. It was all for nothing for Chad Gable, as he suffered another loss against Sami Zayn. After making great efforts to capture the Intercontinental Championship, Gable once again failed.

It was a banger match as both Sami Zayn and Chad Gable tore the house down at OVO Hydro. They went back and forth with each other. However, Gable wanted Alpha Academy members Maxxine Dupri and Otis to get involved in the match to help him win. However, during the course of action, the 38-year-old star accidentally hurt Dupri’s ankle. It led to the former MITB holder losing his mind walking out of the match and taking Maxxine Dupri with him.

The leader of the Alpha Academy was left confused in the ring. It was all the distraction the Intercontinental Champion needed to take to pick up the win as he went on to deliver a wicked Helluva kick right to his face. In the end, the camera faded to black on Gable, who was sitting in the ring in disbelief.

Besides, the cracks among the factions were clearly seen throughout the match. Chad was arrogant towards Maxxine and Otis. He even went on to hit them in order to capture the win. However, the stars were not aligned for the win, as now winning the Intercontinental Championship has become a hopeless dream for the 38-year-old from here on.

Chad Gable confirms his contract status

Chad Gable has become a mainstay on Raw lately. He has been one of the top heels on the roster and has been receiving constant backing from the fans. Amid his heel run, some scoops suggested that he has not renewed his contract yet with WWE.

In an interview with Gorilla Position, Gable confirmed that he has signed a multi-year contract with WWE. He praised Triple H for his guidance and called him one of the reasons to re-sign the contract. Moreover, he gave a hint towards his trajectory being changed in the upcoming weeks.

It is going to be interesting to see how things are going to be for the Olympic Gold Medalist after such a hefty deal. Kicking off his new stint with a loss at Clash at the Castle is certainly a huge dip. However, it makes it highly likely for him to recruit some new team members.
