There have been a handful of quarterbacks in the NFL who are undoubtedly the best at what they do but have not gotten the opportunity to win a Super Bowl. In recent history, Lamar Jackson has found himself a part of this class of quarterbacks. With two MVP awards to his credit, he is now close to winning his third.

This season, the Baltimore Ravens are complete on offense and defense. This team is a legitimate Super Bowl contender and what would be better than for Lamar Jackson to win his first Lombardi Trophy weeks after winning his third MVP award? Chad Johnson is one among thousands of fans counting on this to happen.

I can understand the greatness that is Lamar Jackson. I can appreciate the quarterback play and what he has been able to do since watching him at Boynton High School, watching him at Louisville, and seeing how he has grown and matured into the quarterback he is today…All the stuff he has had to overcome, all the obstacles and the hurdles…I really hope he wins the whole thing this year, not just the MVP but goddammit...get you a chip…

Despite the Bengals and Ravens being rivals, Ochocinco cannot deny the greatness of Lamar Jackson as he respects game.

Lamar Jackson is closing in on Josh Allen in the MVP race

The reason the Ravens’ quarterback has so many fans rooting for him is because of his story. There could not have been a bigger underdog than Lamar Jackson in the world of football. He has been counted out since High School. His capabilities as a quarterback were doubted by scouts because he could run the ball better than he could throw it.

Jackson was asked to switch positions and become a running back but despite all the criticisms, he hung in there. In seven seasons, he has won two MVP awards, overtook Michael Vick’s record for most rushing yards by a quarterback, and is now on track to win his third MVP and potentially his first Super Bowl. The Lombardi is the only trophy that he needs to cement his legacy amongst the all-time greats.

Lamar Jackson has 3,955 yards, 39 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions this season. Despite his monstrous performance against the Houston Texans on Christmas, he continues to trail Josh Allen in the race to MVP. However, the margin has reduced significantly as the Bills’ quarterback has -250 odds to win the game while the Ravens’ star has +160 odds to win it. This will be an unforgettable season for Jackson and he has the chance to make it the year in which he finally earns himself a Super Bowl win.
