World No. 1 Novak Djokovic‘s Roland Garros defense continues as he progresses to the third round after beating Roberto Carballes Baena 6-4, 6-1, 6-2. However, that wasn’t the only notable event on Day 4 of this year’s tournament.

Tennis fans witnessed another instance of crowd interference. The Serbian has had his fair share of troubles with crowds wherever he goes. However, his mental strength always allows him to elevate his tennis to another level. Nevertheless, this was another episode between a tennis fan and Djokovic on Thursday.

Sir, you have to stop this. If that happens again, we take you out.

The problems started when Djokovic was serving for the first set. When the Serbian won the set, he appeared to give a deep stare to the fan. However, the problems only intensified afterward.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion went to the chair umpire and informed him about the situation. The umpire then took matters into his own hands and normalized the situation.

Ironically, this episode occurred only 24 hours after Iga Swiatek remarked to the crowd following her significant win over Naomi Osaka. She also criticized the French crowd for interfering during rallies.

Novak Djokovic secures a dominant second-round win at Roland Garros

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic continued his title defense with a dominant win over unseeded Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena. The Serbian is seeking his 25th Grand Slam title at this year’s French Open.

A highly contested opening set concluded with Djokovic playing more aggressively from the baseline, stepping in on returns and maneuvering the Spaniard from corner to corner to secure a decisive break at 5-4. Building on this momentum, Djokovic’s clean ball-striking quickly earned him a double break, leading 4-0 in the second set.

According to Infosys Stats, the Serbian won 55 percent of his return points and broke Carballes Baena’s serve seven times, improving to 3-0 in his Lexus ATP Head2Head with the World No. 63. Notably, all their encounters have been at Grand Slam events.

The defending champion will next face 30th seed Lorenzo Musetti. Djokovic has won four of their five previous meetings, including a victory last month in Monte Carlo, where the 24-time Grand Slam champion avenged his 2023 loss to the Italian in the Principality.
