The political landscape in the United States has been alarming lately, and former as well as current NBA/WNBA stars such as Charles BarkleyAngel Reese, and Isiah Thomas are not holding back their concerns.

The game between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves, scheduled for Saturday, was postponed in the wake of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation in Minneapolis and protests.

Earlier this month, the city of Minneapolis was rocked by disturbing news. Renee Nicole Good was fatally shot by an ICE agent. And on January 24, a man named Alex Pretti was shot and killed by an ICE agent. The shocking news went viral and was widely condemned by the citizens of the city. Charles Barkley was in the headlines recently for criticizing ESPN over scheduling conflicts. With only four appearances in three months, the Inside the NBA crew were back on Saturday.

The Warriors-Timberwolves clash was a highly anticipated matchup as it would pit two superstars, Stephen Curry and Anthony Edwards, against one another. The two teams are coming off a difficult week, with the Warriors learning about Jimmy Butler‘s ACL tear, while the Wolves are on a four-match losing streak.

Following the postponement of the match, Barkley raised his voice about the events taking place on the Inside the NBA show.

I think her name was Renee Good and today man, it’s just sad man. It’s scary. It’s gonna end bad, it has already ended badly twice. Somebody has to got to step up and act like an adult. Two people have died for no reason and it’s just sad.

The events taking place have been a matter of concern, and the recent killing of Pretti has escalated the tensions even further. The postponed game will be held at the same venue a day later, on January 25.

Angel Reese and Isiah Thomas show concern after the shootings

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has been in the news in the offseason, but not for her basketball. Despite having a young WNBA career, Reese has already made her presence off the court through her business ventures and has focused on collaborating with exclusive brands due to her love for fashion.

Reese, along with A’ja Wilson, is set to team up and take their talents to the movie industry. They are joining four-time NBA Champion Curry in the ensemble voice cast of the upcoming animated sports comedy film titled “GOAT”.

The WNBA star posted “Praying for our country” on X on Saturday. While Reese did not specify what she was referring to, it was posted during the widespread national debate of Pretti’s shooting.

Former NBA champion Isiah Thomas had a few words to share in his X account as well.

6 guys beating the shit outta ONE person then KILLING him!! F*ck the ICE agents. 6 against one and yall still shoot and kill somebody. Yall had him out numbered and decided to KILL him like it was a video game and he can just he his life back smh.

It is never a pleasant moment when life is taken by law enforcement, especially when it happens twice in such a short span. At the end of the day, one can only offer their condolences to the families and hope such incidents do not arise again.

Charles Barkley says Stephen Curry is the real victim in the Jonathan Kuminga drama

Barkley has never shied away from expressing his opinions and did not mince his words on the Warriors situation. Just before Butler’s injury, Jonathan Kuminga requested a trade in the midst of all the drama surrounding him and his fractured relationship with Steve Kerr.

On ESPN’s Inside the NBA, Barkley described Curry as the “biggest loser” of the entire situation.

The biggest loser in the whole thing is Steph because they were not contenders now. Steph is gonna finish the last part of his career on a mediocre team.

Despite being 37 and in his 17th NBA season, Curry is still playing at a very high level. The Warriors guard is currently averaging 27.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists, proving he is still an elite player.
