The 2025-26 campaign has been far from pleasant for Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors and former NBA player Charles Barkley made sure that Green knows it. After an impressive start to the season in which they went 4-1 in their first five games, beating the likes of strong contenders such as the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets, the Warriors seem to have lost their way.
30 games into the season, the Warriors find themselves in the play-in spots. A position many would not have expected with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler leading the charge. The Dubs are currently placed at eighth in the Western Conference standings with a 15-15 record. They have struggled to win games away from home, as they have won only six out of their 17 road games.
The Warriors are an elite defensive team, as they are ranked third in the league in terms of defensive rating. The problem has been on the other end of the floor. Their offense is ranked 21st in terms of offensive rating. A shocking statistic for a team that has always been known for its offensive talents.
Curry has missed a few games due to injury and illness this season, but has still put up dominant performances and is currently averaging 28.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists. Despite his impressive numbers at 37, he has not had enough support from his teammates so far.
Green joined Inside the NBA on Christmas Day, and Charles Barkley took some shots at the four-time NBA Champion.

Barkley has often been critical of the Warriors in the past and recently said that he believes that the Warriors’ run is over as the core of their team have aged and are not the same players they once were.

Draymond Green on his incident with Steve Kerr
Draymond Green has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons once again. The former Defensive Player of the Year was ejected during their win against the Phoenix Suns and grabbed eyeballs in the following game against the Orlando Magic when he walked into the locker room after a fiery exchange with head coach Steve Kerr during a timeout. Fortunately for the Warriors, both incidents did not cost them much as they came out as the winners.

Both Green and Kerr have been through a lot of highs and lows since the 60-year-old joined the franchise as the head coach in 2014. They share a great relationship and have often come out in support of one another. When asked about his recent incident with Kerr on ESPN, Green replied:
I didn’t want the one thing to become two. So remove myself, and I thought that was the best thing to do instead of saying things you can’t come back from tomorrow. That was a huge moment of growth for me.

It is good to see that Green was able to hold himself back before making it worse, not just for himself but even for the team. All eyes will be on Christmas Day as the Warriors take on the Dallas Mavericks at the Chase Center.
