Charles Barkley had a memorable performance at the 2024 American Century Championship. Barkley, the NBA Hall of Famer, was tied for 52nd place after the opening round. This was the first time he had ever been in the red after three holes. However, Barkley managed to finish the round with a positive score of three points.

Former NBA star was caught on a hot mic unleashing a profanity-laced tirade during the celebrity golf tournament. Barkley was heard shouting “God dammit, you fat f**k” in an apparent outburst directed at an unknown target.

Barkley, known for his unorthodox swing, shot a mix of birdies, pars, doubles, and bogeys. He earned a total of six points after 13 holes and finished with a score of three points.

Two years ago, Charles Barkley bet $100,000 on himself at 5-to-1 odds to finish inside the top 70 in the 88-player field. He tied for 76th.

Final leaderboard at the American Century Championship 2024

Mardy Fish, the former professional tennis player, captured his second American Century Championship title on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nevada. Fish held off a strong field to claim the $150,000 winner’s share of the $750,000 total prize purse.

The 35th edition of the celebrity golf tournament featured a star-studded lineup, including Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. Kelce’s performance was eventful, with a tee shot striking a fan on Friday, although the fan was uninjured. Kelce’s lighthearted spirit shone through as he apologized by kissing the fan on the shoulder.

Fish, who previously won the tournament in 2020, scored 76 points in the last round to finish with 152 points, nine ahead of second-place finisher John Smoltz. The event used a modified Stableford scoring system, with points granted according to the number of strokes taken on each hole.

Smoltz, the runner-up, earned $70,000 for finishing second, while Tony Romo, who finished third, received $40,000. Stephen Curry and Kyle Williams finished fourth and fifth, earning $30,000 and $25,000, respectively.
