“You’re ducking me!” Charles Barkley calls out ‘coward’ Stephen Curry for running away to Olympics

Charles Barkley calls out coward Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry for running away to Olympics instead of competing in golf

Charles Barkley has been busy in the off-season doing the things he likes the most. One of them is playing golf. The Hall of Famer was a part of the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in South Lake Tahoe. The tournament, in particular, had last year’s champion missing. He is none other than Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry.

It seems Barkley wanted a matchup against the 4-time champion. As he came out of the greens, Mike Cherry of KCRA News approached him and asked if he thought he could finish in the top 75. Barkley liked his chances. Soon, Cherry reminded Barkley that the last time someone said that, they won the tournament, referring to Stephen Curry‘s win last year. Soon, Barkley hilariously called out Curry.

Steph Curry, you're a coward. You are ducking me. You know I was going to beat you this year, you thought you gonna scapegoat cause you going to the Olympics. What kind of weak excuse is that you're going to the Olympics. You ducking me Steph Curry, you're a coward.

Charles Barkley wanted all the smoke as he claimed his golf game had improved. This is why he wanted to go head-to-head with last year’s champion. However, Curry is in Abu Dhabi now with Team USA, holding falcons on his arm. In fact, he is getting ready for his first-ever Olympics. In place of him, his father, Dell Curry, and brother and NBA player Seth Curry are also participating.

Charles Barkley and Stephen Curry have jawed in the past about their golfing abilities. So, this rant from the Hall of Famer is not surprising. With his supposedly improved game, he would have liked it if the two squared off this year.

Charles Barkley and his quest to improve in golf

Golf is the second sport Charles Barkley plays regularly. He took this game up and played several matchups against old friend Michael Jordan. His love for the game is such that he makes it a point to participate in tournaments whenever he gets an opportunity. This is the case for his participation at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship.

The Hall of Famer revealed this was his 29th straight appearance and that he reserves the dates for this event every year. Last year, he finished 81st. This time, he is tied for 48th after the first round. That is after finishing a round in his 29 attempts with positive points for the first time.

If he does end up in the top 75, he will brag about his improvement to Stephen Curry. The Golden State Warriors superstar said last year that Barkley doesn’t have a good enough golf game. As such, Barkley has Curry in his sight. He will also brag about it to his TNT colleagues, whom he has lost in golf.
