Former NBA players, and now legendary analysts, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith along with host Ernie Johnson have shared the NBA on TNT show for years. The “Who He Play For?” game show, in which Charles Barkley attempts to predict which team NBA journeymen are now playing for in their nomadic careers, is one of the great classics of Inside the NBA.
Notably, this time around, the crew tried something different with Barkley being made the scapegoat once again. Ernie Johnson handed the reins to Barkley to host a hockey version of the popular game “Who He Skate For?” following Game 2 of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals at Madison Square Garden. It surely did not go well for Barkley as he completely fumbled the segment.
In light of Barkley’s intense passion for hockey, this could have been his chance to finally outshine the other co-hosts. But instead, Barkley provided the spectators with the comedy that has rendered Inside the NBA one of the most popular sports programs. As the program rapidly went off the rails, Barkley blew the hosting assignment by giving away several answers.
In addition, Charles Barkley’s “Auburn education” was continuously disparaged by Shaquille O’Neal as he struggled to host the event without revealing all the answers. Notably, when the San Jose Sharks logo appeared on the monitor and Kenny Smith blurted out, “Tampa Bay Sharks,” it was the best non-response.
Aside from this, the Inside the NBA show has been known for its hilarious content for years, attracting the NBA community in various conversations and debates. Fans love them for their witty nature and have always backed the show and its content.
Shaquille O’Neal called out Charles Barkley for ‘cheating’ on the Inside the NBA show
After criticizing the game “Who He Skate For,” Ernie Johnson gave failing gameshow host Charles Barkley a final “Who He Play For?” quiz. Surprisingly, Garrett Temple, a 15-year veteran with 12 teams, was shown. Temple, who had a black eye and a missing tooth, was seen wearing hockey gear. Chuck fired a shot as the seconds passed and was right.
However, his co-host and dear friend Shaquille O’Neal found something fishy. He called foul play right away. O’Neal said Barkley had utilized his prior cue cards to get the answer, despite Temple’s obvious Raptors red attire. When Kenny wondered if the answers were on the cards, Chuck threw them off the table, suggesting that he might have been right. Shaq repeated, “You little cheater.”
The words “BONUS: Garrett Temple(Raptors)” were prominently displayed at the end of each card when Ernie was given them. Chuck decided to blame the production crew to save his blushes. For the fans, this concluded yet another amusing moment.
