The NBA Finals are in motion, and the New York Knicks franchise and their fans hoped they would win two more games to participate in the NBA title showdown. Charles Barkley saw how Tom Thibodeau and his players could not get over the line after making crucial mistakes throughout the East Finals.
Ultimately, Thibodeau paid the price after he was let go a couple of days after ending their season. This caught everyone off guard as the long-time head coach had brought the franchise back from basketball obscurity.
Now, they are looking towards hiring their next head coach, but so far, have not been able to land a single interview. Charles Barkley has noted how teams are turning away the team from the Big Apple’s interview requests, and said this ahead of Game 3.
"You don't fire no good coach like that and don't have a plan." 👀

The Knicks gotta be the stupidest damn people in the world. You don’t fire no good coach like that and don’t have a plan. Thibs did a hell of a job, obviously something’s going on. You don’t have a plan, and now the three coaches turn you down.

The Hall of Famer was referring to news that the New York Knicks requested three teams to interview their head coaches for their open position. The Dallas Mavericks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Houston Rockets denied permission to the franchise to interview their head coaches.
Trae Young trolls Knicks for being denied permission to interview his HC
Jason Kidd was rumored to have mutual interest in the open New York Knicks head coaching job. However, as per the rules of his contract, the latter has to ask his employer, the Dallas Mavericks, to interview him.

That means, even if he wanted to, he cannot schedule an interview and seek a way out. Now, after three of those rejections, Shams Charania revealed that the New York team tried to seek permission to interview Atlanta Hawks head coach Quinn Snyder, again to be denied. This caught Trae Young‘s attention, who wrote this on X.
Hell nahh.

Young loves to troll the New York Knicks at every opportunity he gets. This time, it was his head coach who made it the best chance for him to take a shot at the city that often goes after him whenever he plays them.
Hell nahh🤣

He is essentially piling on the embarrassment, considering the franchise is now 0-4 in terms of speaking with viable candidates. They are looking at everyone possible, but so far, the best seem to be out of their reach.
Kevin Garnett joins Charles Barkley and Trae Young to troll Knicks
The New York Knicks have a passionate fan base. At the same time, they are also the subject of ridicule from the rest of the league. Now that they are 0-4 when seeking interviews, Hall of Famer and Boston Celtics great Kevin Garnett decided to add to the trolls going after his former rival.
Everytime the Knicks asks for permission to interview. This is crazy.

He added a GIF of the late Dikembe Mutombo‘s famous finger wag to depict how teams are responding to the franchise. Going by how their run of denials has gone, it is not surprising to see rival players and teams continue to poke fun at the franchise.
The Knicks requested permission to speak to Billy Donovan for their coaching vacancy but were denied, per sources. The Bulls value Donovan highly for his coaching acumen, communication skills and ability to connect with players and all members of organization.

There are also rumors that the Knicks tried to get an interview with Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan, but were also denied. This means the franchise ran out of 5 options. No wonder Charles Barkley said that it is clear that the organization does not have a plan to replace Tom Thibodeau.
