Charles Barkley, the Philadelphia 76ers legend, was super excited after the 76ers survived elimination at the hands of the New York Knicks in Game 5 of their playoff series at Madison Square Garden.

He was excited to the point where he sent a subtle warning to the Knicks fans ahead of the must-win game 6 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

The New York Knicks fans have made a reputation for themselves in this playoff round for their raucous cheers and taunting opposition players. Thus, Charles Barkley sarcastically sent out the warning.

If y’all come down to Philly with that damn racket Thursday night, there’s gonna be some repercussions and some consequences!
Charles Barkley said while on the set of Inside the NBA

The Philadelphia 76ers fans would hope to turn their home turf into a literal warzone to drown out the expected cacophony that would come from the Knicks fans. They’d need to be there for their team to avoid an early exit in the playoffs.

With Chuck’s comments, he knows he has brought trouble as the stakes have become higher. With the series now at 3-2 in favor of the Knicks, it’s all to play for.

Charles Barkley calls Knicks out for going easy on Tyrese Maxey

The Philadelphia 76ers beat the odds against the New York Knicks thanks to the remarkable performance of 2024 NBA Most Improved Player of the Year Tyrese Maxey. But 76ers legend Charles Barkley thought the Knicks could have done something to stop Maxey in his tracks.

Chuck was quite surprised that the Knicks didn’t stop or even foul Maxey and send him toward the line after Josh Hart had made a free throw to extend their lead to three points. According to Barkley, if that had been done, Maxey would have instead shot two free throws as his team was down by three.

I've [said] on the show all these years that I'd foul 100% of the time, 100% of the time. It's just a bonehead play in my opinion. I want the lead and the ball. The two most important things in the basketball game: the lead and the ball, because these guys are so good… But like I say, some coaches don't foul, some coaches always foul. I'm gonna always foul a guy in that situation.
Barkley speaking to Ernie Johnson and the rest of the Inside the NBA crew said

Tyrese Maxey ended the game with 46 points, five rebounds, and nine assists as the game went to overtime, where they eventually won and forced the all-crucial game 6. And there we would see a clash of fans as the traveling Knicks fans would hope to propel their team to victory.
