“We’re not steel workers, nurses…” Charles Barkley RIPS $193 million star Joel Embiid over load management
NBA legend Charles Barkley was highly critical of NBA star Joel Embiid on a recent segment of the NBA on TNT Show.
Joel Embiid and Charles Barkley
NBA star Joel Embiid drew a lot of interest a few weeks ago when he spoke about the NBA load management before the new season. This garnered reactions from various NBA analysts and ex-players through different podcasts, news shows, etc. Notably, NBA Hall of Famer, Charles Barkley was one of them who let out his views on Embiid’s remarks.
Embiid’s statements did not sit well with the former NBA star. Charles Barkley and his co-host Shaquille O’Neal, have never been a fan of player tantrums. From Kyrie Irving sitting out because of the vaccine controversy, Ben Simmons’ absence, to now Joel Embiid’s injuries, the TNT crew have let their thoughts be known, unfiltered.
"We're not steel workers, we're not nurses… we're playing basketball, at the most, four days a week."

Stephen A Smith, however, was not happy with ‘Inside The NBA’ crew slandering the 76ers superstar. With the absence of Embiid, the Sixers lost their season opener game against the Bucks.
If fit, he is one of the best centers in the sport currently alongside the Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic. That said, to stay away from criticism and hate, Embiid will have to be at his flying best this 2024-25 NBA season.
Another NBA legend was highly critical of Joel Embiid’s load management remarks
Echoing the same views as Charles Barkley, Celtics champ Kevin Garnett spoke on Joel Embiid recently. Over the past few years, Embiid has been among the NBA’s top centers. ‘Because of his outstanding achievements for the Philadelphia 76ers, he frequently receives MVP shoutouts. Garnett pointed out yet again why the modern era of NBA can’t be compared to old-school basketball.

Embiid claims to avoid back-to-back games has now opened a portal for hate. All of the hype the 76ers built with their new ‘Big 3’ of Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George has now plummeted.
With the Boston Celtics dominating the Eastern Conference, the 76ers have to get a lot of things right before challenging for the crown. Embiid also has a chip on his shoulder for being an MVP and not reaching the Conference Finals.
