Charles Barkley could not hold back from slamming the Miami Heat for Dwyane Wade's statue
The latest superstar in the NBA to get a statue was Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade. His statue unveiling drew media and fan attention more than usual considering the head of the model looked different. So much so that it Charles Barkley and the crew of Inside the NBA had to discuss about it.
The crew knew that memes have flooded social media mocking the franchise and the sculptors for delivering something that did not match the Hall of Famer. But they initially tried to keep it as decent as possible.
Even host Ernie Johnson mentioned that it was a great honor for Dwyane Wade considering how he was instrumental in helping the Miami Heat become one of the most competitive teams in the NBA. After he said that, Charles Barkley had to give his two cents.
It’s a great honor. But they gotta take that thing down. If you made an ugly statue, that’s what it would look like. That thing is awful.

Then the producers showed a picture of the statue. To this, fellow panelist Kenny Smith suggested it was a depiction of an animated Wade’s face. But the Hall of Famer was having none of it as he continued to troll.
That was after he saw the statue right there. The statue was so bad they had to put all his stats behind, so you know who it was. Shout out to the statue makers, get your education next time.

These words sent the entire crew into splits as try as they might, they knew ‘the Chuckster’ was right, as the statue looked nothing like the three-time NBA champion. Even Wade’s teammate at the time Shaquille O’Neal could not hold himself back.

The fun among the crew continued with Shaquille O’Neal using a smoke machine to prank Charles Barkley. But it was not the end as they proceeded to run this week’s edition of Shaqtin’ a Fool. After going through their first three nominees, they can to the winning moment.

It was Dwyane Wade’s sculpture as unveiled by the Miami Heat. Smith and Johnson could not believe it made it to the top spot on this week’s spoof show. But it was revealed that the statue received over 90% votes for being the best Shaqtin’ a Fool spoof of the week.
With social media still throwing up memes on the hour, it is understandable that fans are having a great time trolling the model. Dwyane Wade might have tried to save the face of the Miami Heat by suggesting it was the best statue. But fans and the Inside the NBA crew know better.
