Charles Barkley tells Zion Williamson how much weight he has to lose in off-season
Zion's comeback this season was one to watch.

Zion Williamson and Charles Barkley
Zion Williamson, the beast from New Orleans Pelicans, unfortunately injured his hamstring during the Play-In tournament against the Los Angeles Lakers. “Zanos” played the most games this season, as he stepped up his game, being more efficient from the field and a dangerous threat on the defensive end.
However, following the 2020-21 season, Zion suffered a foot injury during the recovery of which he gained a lot of weight. Fans as well as critics didn’t expect much from his return, as he didn’t seem serious due to his off-court issues. Though as he made his progress, he caught the attention of Charles Barkley who relates a lot to Zion.
I like Zion a lot. He reminds me of me. He's more athletic, but the sooner he gets in shape, the better he's gonna be... He has got so much talent and you can't get in shape during the season. You get in shape during the summer. I've seen that he's lost around 25 pounds, that's what the reports are during the season. You got to do that during the summer. Because you got to be ready to go when the season start. Man he is so explosive.said Charles Barkley on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, Club Shay Shay
The Pelican averaged 22.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5 assists while shooting 57% from the field. Following the In-Season tournament Zion lost 25 pounds and his weight loss was talked about by many critics.
Zion was looking muscular, cutting his weight during the season. However, if he manages to do the same in the summer while preparing for the 2024-25 season, Zanos will be a more dangerous threat on the floor.
Zion Williamson’s promising message to Pelicans fans following first-round elimination
While the city of New Orleans missed Zion Williamson during their series against OKC, Zion and company will be returning for good next season. Looking at his history, Williamson seems to have become injury-prone, though he will look to come out of the same phase. Recently, Zion sent a hopeful message to Pelicans fans.
To the city, we appreciate the love and the support. Me and the guys are gonna do what we need to do to bring this city what they deserve.Zion Williamson said to the reporters last week
As Zion recovers from his injury, the big man is looking to make yet another comeback next season. It will be interesting to see the Pelicans make changes to the roster this offseason, filling in the necessary spots. Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum have been the core of the team along with Zion. The front office is likely to build a roster around this core.
