Charles Barkley has no filter, which is as mild as anyone can put it. His basketball career, as well as his time as a broadcaster, has given sports fans enough to entertain themselves. Clips of his wild takes garner millions of views because fans do not get tired of watching them over and over.

That was one reason fans were in uproar when they learned that Inside the NBA would initially not continue once TNT lost the NBA’s media rights deal. They wanted the league to figure out a way to ensure the quartet and their elite chemistry-driven banter would continue.

Thankfully, ESPN managed to rescue the situation by striking a deal where Barkley and his crew would continue Inside the NBA for the foreseeable future. This season was their last as part of TNT’s official broadcast, and their final episode was when the Eastern Conference Finals ended.

Barkley is now working as a part-time analyst for NBA TV. Before Game 3, he delivered another unfiltered joke about the New York Knicks. Tonight, ahead of Game 4, he brought out another one when he learned that a tattoo artist in Oklahoma would be giving out free tattoos if the Thunder win the NBA title.

I’ve never had a tattoo before. I’m honestly gonna do it this summer. I’m gonna get my grandson and granddaughter’s names put right here (pointing to his forearms), Charlie, Henry. Some of these fools be getting women names put on ’em & they break up with ’em like damn idiots.

Hearing this, fellow panelist Candace Parker asked if Barkley would get a tattoo of his daughter. But the Round Mound of Rebound’s response suggested he was not too keen on that. He would stick to just his grandchildren’s names.

Charles Barkley realizes he has to tattoo the Thunder to get it for free

Barkley earns $20 million a year from TNT. As one of the highest-paid broadcasters in sports, he has often talked about avoiding excessive spending on anything. This interest in getting the free tattoos seems to stem from that lifestyle. However, he was shocked when he was reminded that he had to get the Thunder tattooed to get it for free.

I’m not getting no damn Thunder tattoo, oh you’ve got to get a Thunder tattoo, I’m not doing that.

The Hall of Famer, however, conceded that he will go to Oklahoma City to get the tattoos of his grandchildren in the summer. For someone who has avoided tattoos all throughout his life, this is a big step.

Charles Barkley has another unfiltered take on the Knicks HC opening

When Charles Barkley has the microphone in his hands, he is usually never done talking. Ahead of Game 4, the panel of NBA TV’s analysis crew was discussing how the Indiana Pacers have proved they are worthy of becoming champions, when the 62-year-old said this-

I know we’ve got a long way to go. But if Rick (Carlisle) were to win, the only bad thing about it is the Knicks ask for permission to talk to him.

Charles Barkley said

His joke continued about what he and the rest of the league are doing to the New York Knicks. Their head coaching search has become a joke for basketball players, analysts, and fans, as they look to land an interview with anyone established head coach.

Rick Carlisle would himself fend off any head coaching requests from the Knicks. After all, he knows how big teams are, and considering how he tends to build over the long run, trigger-happy teams would undermine his otherwise stellar coaching career.
