LeBron James will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball. For all his achievements, he is forever linked to Michael Jordan in the GOAT debate. Jordan is known for his championship mentality and hyper competitiveness, while James is known for his longevity and rewriting the NBA history books.
The 2025-26 campaign represents LeBron James‘ 23rd season in the NBA. A number no player has achieved in league history. After a slow start to the campaign, James seems to have found his top condition after turning 41 and has shown no signs of slowing down. He is currently averaging 22 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 6.7 assists.
Currently at the backend of his career, James has been vocal about Luka Doncic being the focal point of the team now. After a strong start to the season, the Los Angeles Lakers have seen a dip in form since the turn of the year. But they remain in contention for a direct playoff berth, currently fifth in the Western Conference standings.
Throughout his 23-year career in the NBA, James has broken numerous records. He has won four NBA Championships, four Finals MVPs, four MVP awards, and holds the NBA all-time regular-season scoring record, breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar‘s record, which was held for nearly 40 years. A record many believe may never be broken.
Hence, there is no doubt that James is a first ballot Hall of Famer. Inside the NBA returned on Wednesday for the Lakers vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers game. Former NBA Champion Shaquille O’Neal spoke about James being a first ballot Hall of Famer. Charles Barkley, who is known for his hilarious comments, had a funny response to O’Neal’s comments.
You never know. He might get Belichick’d.

Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, who has won eight Super Bowls as a head coach, was not a first ballot Hall of Famer. He fell short of the 40 out of 50 votes needed for induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, much to the surprise of many.
Charles Barkley believes LeBron James should not be an All-Star
When the All-Star starters were announced last week, one name was omitted that caught everyone’s eye. After 21 straight years of being named as a starter, James missed the cut this time. His teammate Doncic, Stephen Curry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, and Victor Wembanyama, were chosen as starters from the Western Conference.
The fan vote accounted for 50% of the selection process, along with a survey of NBA players and a media panel, and to no surprise, Doncic took center stage, winning the fan poll by almost 200,000 votes.
While the Inside the NBA crew were discussing if James will be selected as a reserve on the All-Star team. Barkley spoke about why he thinks the four-time NBA Champion should not be included.
We already have the starters and I want to give some other guys coming off the bench some shine. Its borderline. The one guy I’m going to war for is Dillon Brooks. I think Dillon Brooks deserves to be an All Star.

It remains to be seen if James will be named in the reserves but considering his current form and popularity, he is very likely to be named as an All-Star for a 22nd time.
LeBron James sheds tears in what ‘could be’ final game in Cleveland
Drafted as the number one pick in the 2003 NBA draft, James spent 11 seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers. During his time with the Cavs, he brought relevancy to the franchise. He took them to five NBA Finals and helped them win their lone NBA Championship in 2016.
On Wednesday night, James returned to the building filled with history and memories. While the Lakers were blown out 129-99 by the Cavs, who extended their winning streak to a season-high five games, it was the king’s return to his old palace.

It may not have been the homecoming he was looking for as it was James’ worst statistical game against Cleveland, scoring 11 points on 3 of 10 shooting while committing more turnovers (6) than assists (5). It was still an emotional night.
Following a highlight package dedicated to James’ masterclass in Game 5 of the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals against the Detroit Pistons — a video that ended with the tagline “welcome home” — James became teary-eyed and wiped the tears from his eyes. At 41 years, it may have been James’ final game in Cleveland.
