I got in shape for $2 million. My first contract was 4 years $2 million. I lost 50 pounds because I was fat in college. Again, I would be totally anorexic for $75-80 Million.

Charles Barkley called out superstars like Zion Williamson and Joel Embiid for continually missing games due to injury and load management concerns. NBA stars are lining up to receive exorbitant contracts across the NBA, with some stars earning more than $50-60 million a year. The Chuckster quipped that he would have become ‘anorexic’ trying to lose weight to remain in shape and healthy.

It’s embarrassing as an older player that we have to beg these guys to play basketball.

Charles Barkley told Dan Patrick

The Chuckster clarified that he did not mean to come off as an older player hating on newer generations of athletes. However, given the generational money being handed out to superstars in the modern NBA, Charles Barkley was perplexed by the increasing number of stars missing games.

He was especially concerned about the future of superstars missing games with the NBA’s new TV Rights deal set to kick in next season. Of course, Barkley certainly isn’t worried about voicing his opinions. What’s the worst TV Networks could do, fire him?
