Top UFC lightweight fighter Arman Tsarukyan faced Muhammad Mokaev in the main event of Hype FC Brazil, creating massive excitement among MMA fans. The Armenian has been busy in these grappling matches since last year, and has participated in several high-profile ones. 

Both fighters entered the grappling contest with elite wrestling backgrounds, promising an intense battle filled with scrambles, positional control, and submission attempts. Mokaev accepted the matchup on extremely short notice, stepping in despite the noticeable size disadvantage against the larger lightweight contender.

From the opening seconds, Tsarukyan immediately pressured forward, initiating clinch exchanges and takedown attempts while forcing constant grappling scrambles throughout the match. Mokaev responded with quick transitions, attempting to counter Tsarukyan’s pressure while searching for submission opportunities from defensive positions.

However, Tsarukyan’s physical strength and wrestling control allowed him to dictate the pace, repeatedly advancing positions and maintaining heavy top pressure. As the match progressed, Tsarukyan secured dominant control positions, including mount, and eventually took Mokaev’s back after a long scramble.

Eventually, Tsarukyan secured a tight rear-naked choke, forcing Mokaev unconscious and ending the submission grappling contest decisively. The victory immediately went viral across the MMA community, with fans praising Tsarukyan’s elite grappling ability and composure under pressure. Tsarukyan already possesses a strong grappling resume featuring several submission victories across multiple competitions outside his UFC career. 

His wrestling foundation, combined with improved submission skills, has made him one of the most dangerous grapplers currently competing in MMA. After the match, Tsarukyan confidently called out Charles Oliveira, demanding another fight with the Brazilian star.

Oliveira recently won the UFC BMF championship after beating Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 326. Throughout the fight, he used his wrestling to subdue ‘Blessed’ and didn’t give him any opportunity to bounce back. It was an emotional victory for the ‘Do Bronx’, who called out big names such as Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz for his next outing. 

Tsarukyan stated his grappling dominance and wrestling pressure would again defeat Oliveira, further cementing his position among lightweight contenders. The pair had already fought once back at UFC 300, and the Armenian won the fight via split decision. Since then, he has fought only once and submitted Dan Hooker to continue chasing the lightweight title. 

Controversial grappling star accepts Arman Tsarukyan’s callout 

The last time Arman Tsarukyan competed in a grappling contest, he faced American wrestler Georgio Poullas, and chaos erupted. Throughout the contest, Tsarukyan repeatedly complained about illegal tactics, claiming he was slapped and poked, escalating tensions between the two competitors.

Frustration eventually boiled over as the UFC lightweight lost patience and punched Poullas, triggering an immediate all-out brawl involving both teams. Despite the chaotic ending, many fans publicly supported Tsarukyan, believing he reacted after repeated fouls and unfair treatment.

Following his latest victory, Tsarukyan used the momentum to call out controversial BJJ specialist Dillon Danis for a potential grappling showdown. Danis, widely known for social media feuds and clashes with UFC fighters, quickly responded online and accepted Tsarukyan’s challenge.

Danis came to popularity for his relationship with former UFC double champion Conor McGregor and the infamous UFC 229 brawl. Recently, he backed the ‘Notorious’ to get the UFC White House main event, which eventually didn’t work in favor of McGregor. 

Currently, Danis is scheduled to meet UFC welterweight Colby Covington for a wrestling bout in the co-main event of RAF 7. The fight will take place on March 28 in Tampa, and fans are hyped about the fight and trash-talking between the two stars.
