With the UFC Lightweight title vacant, since Khabib Nurmagomedov has officially retired, Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira will be fighting for the vacant lightweight title on the 15th of May at UFC 262, later this year. A huge opportunity for both, especially Michael Chandler, since this would only be his second fight in the UFC, after having made his debut at UFC 257 against Dan Hooker.

According to the betting odds released by SportsBetting.ag, Charles Oliveira will be going into the fight as the favourite. Right now, he’s got odds of -155, whereas Chandler the underdog has odds of +135. It is to be noted that – before his debut against Dan Hooker, Michael Chandler went into the fight as the underdog, as well.

Michael Chandler is coming off an impressive debut victory against Dan Hooker at UFC 257. ‘Iron’ Mike knocked out Chandler in the very first round, with a flurry of punches. The win propelled the former Bellator legend to number 4 in the lightweight rankings in no time.

Charles Oliveira, on the other hand, is on an impressive win streak of 8, with his last defeat coming way back in December 2017. He is coming off complete marauding domination over Tony Ferguson at UFC 256. Never would have people seen Tony Ferguson being rag-dolled by a fighter, like how Charles did.

Can Chandler once again emerge victorious, despite being the underdog? Or will it be Charles Oliveira all the way?
