‘Charles Oliveira was mentally broken in round 1’ says Tony Ferguson

At UFC 256 co-main event Tony Ferguson entered the Octagon to end the seven-fight win streak of Charles ‘Do Bronx’ Oliveira but unfortunately, Oliveira dominated Ferguson in the match and won the fight by the unanimous decision by judges with each of the judges scoring the fight 30-26 in favor of Charles Oliveira.
Ferguson recently appeared live on Instagram where he spoke about his fight with Oliveira. Ferguson says, “We’re not gonna waste any energy here, and you guys shouldn’t either in jiu-jitsu matches, Just be patient and wait for the opportunity for him to advance and get so lazy that in the third round he doesn’t even advance to mount anymore.”
“What he does is he stays controlled into side position looking for something completely different, a different move because he was mentally broken in the first round. I went back and kind of watched the film and without the commentary and how all like, ‘Oh, you got dominated, this and that.’ OK, to the untrained people in jiu-jitsu”
“Advancing positions in traditional styles of martial arts, you will get points, advantages, and you will get different types of points. But the judging and the contesting as far as the commission, I don’t even know if it’s there. I’m gonna be real. I don’t.”
Ferguson gave clearance about getting cut from UFC
In the same video, Ferguson also addressed UFC referee John McCarthy who stated that Tony could be cut from the UFC roster. He added, No “So a question for John McCarthy and ‘The Punk’:I’m not f****** getting cut. Josh, come on, d*g, you got you’re a** kicked. Don’t start that bitch**g”
“Come on. The fans love me, OK. They want to see me fight again, and I love you guys, too.” So it is clear that Ferguson isn’t going anywhere and ‘El Cucuy’ will be back really soon.
