On Wednesday, Charlie Woods, the son of 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, claimed his first AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) tournament victory. The 16-year-old won the Team TaylorMade Invitational at the Streamsong Resort Black Course in Bowling Green. His triumph left the fans on social media hyped up.

Ever since he burst on the scene, golf fans had been hoping for a win from the young Woods. Given that his father is one of the most talented athletes, the pressure has always been high on the shoulder of Charlie Woods.

This week he took part in the 71-player tournament, which consisted of some of top-ranked amateur players. After a birdie on the first and a bogey on the second hole, Woods got locked in.

He drained birdies on Holes Nos. 4, 6, 7, and 8. At the back nine, he made birdies on the 11th, 12th, and 14th holes while bogeying the 13th one. With a par on the 18th, he managed to shoot a score of 6-under 66 to secure his first AJGA win.

After his triumph, Woods expressed that the winning this tournament was big for his mental game going forward.

Just being able to say to myself that I have won an absolutely amazing event and say that I have performed under high pressure situations is huge going forward. I haven’t been able to say I’ve done that and now that I can it is a big thing for my mental game going forward.

Before this tournament, the 16-year-old was ranked at 604 in the AJGA rankings. His previous best finish in any AJGA event was a tie for 25th place.
