Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to star in a WWE-themed NBC show
Two of the biggest WWE Superstars from the Raw roster are set to star in a show together. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair will be starring in an upcoming WWE-themed episode of NBC’s revival of the 1980’s show Punky Brewster.
NBC’s Punky Brewster is a series that aired from 1984-1988. The revival version of the show will be available on NBC’s Peacock streaming service from 25th February. The news of WWE Superstars starring in an NBC show comes as the WWE Network is moving to Peacock.
Bliss and Flair will be appearing as their WWE characters on the show. This is the first appearance for Bliss in a non-WWE television appearance. But Flair had starred in a movie in 2017, titled Psych: The Movie.
On WWE, Bliss is currently involved in a feud with Randy Orton. She currently appears in a supernatural character who was close to Bray Wyatt’s The Fiend. Charlotte Flair is feuding with her father, Ric Flair.
WWE Superstars are taking up mainstream acting roles
Bliss and Flair are not the first WWE Superstars who have taken up non-WWE acting roles. WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks is a cast member of The Mandalorian, which airs on Disney Plus. Banks stars as a Mandalorian named Koska Reeves on the show. She has been receiving a lot of praise for her acting skills.
Becky Lynch too has appeared on the hit show Billions. Lynch had a cameo on the opening episode of the fifth season. On the other hand, Superstars like John Cena and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have completely switched careers from wrestling to Hollywood.
