Although she is unpopular with some hardcore wrestling fans, there is no denying that Charlotte Flair is one of, if not the, biggest female WWE superstars of all time. Fans have been waiting for months for the 38-year-old to make her return to weekly programming, and it seems like they are finally about to get their wish.
WWE ran a vignette on the latest episode of SmackDown announcing the return of Charlotte Flair. She reposted this video and made a reference to Taylor Swift’s Willow in the caption talking about her return. Her return has officially been announced for the Royal Rumble 2025. The Premium Live Event takes place on February 1 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
This week’s hype video featured Flair talking about arrogance and confidence. She reminded everyone that she knew exactly who she was, which was the Greatest of All Time. She said that she is entering the Rumble match with a smile on her face and a tear in her eye. These are the exact same words her father, Ric Flair, used prior to entering the Rumble in 1992.

The promotion had run a similar vignette last week as well. The montage featured Flair hanging out on a yacht, driving luxury cars, hanging out by the beach in her swimwear, and wearing royal clothes. The video also showcased her moments in the ring and lifting World Championships in the air.
What will Charlotte Flair do upon her return to WWE?
A popular online gag states that only three things in life are for sure: Death, Taxes, and Charlotte Flair winning a championship upon returning to WWE. There is no doubt that she will immediately insert herself into the championship picture. Furthermore, she is even a favorite to win the Royal Rumble. The WWE Universe would surely love to see her square up against Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania.
Although WWE has not directly teased a match-up between Flair and Stratton for WrestleMania, this seems to be the most popular theory online. It is also backed up by several insider reports. Besides, there are no other viable feuds at the moment for either of these women heading into the Showcase of the Immortals.
Last December, Flair got injured during a match on SmackDown against Asuka. The Queen had torn her ACL, MCL, and meniscus. She required surgery pretty soon after and has been uploading videos of her recovery and training to her Instagram account ever since.
Flair has not been seen on WWE programming ever since. She did not make a single appearance in 2024. However, she is expected to be a pillar of the women’s division as she once was heading into 2025. The WWE Universe is also excited to see what the promotion has planned for her leading up to WrestleMania.
