It’s been over 400 days since Charlotte Flair was seen in a WWE ring. On the heels of a gnarly bump in December 2023 on SmackDown, The Queen tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus partially. The initial timeframe for her return was about nine months. However, for the first time in her WWE career, Flair had to be on the shelf for an entire year and counting.
But that wait is about to be over. Taking to X, Charlotte Flair dropped a sneak peek into her preparations for an impending return. Narrating the vitriol that’s been hurled at her, the 38-year-old seems hellbent on silencing her naysayers. Charlotte told her real self, Ashley, to extract the negativity from her system. She alluded to competing with herself.
As one can see below, Flair’s been working her tail off. She’s all but cleared and waiting for the green light from WWE to be put back on television. The North Carolina native is expected to join SmackDown. This past Tuesday night, the 14-time Women’s Champion paid a visit to NXT. She posted a picture with Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson.
Merely four days into 2025, Flair reported at the Flatbacks Wrestling School. She trained at the facility intended to ease up her mobility. It’s a well-documented fact that she resorted to pre-season training a month or two ago. Which is why the WWE Universe is growing impatient after not having her back on their screens already.
Addressing the previous chatter about a slight chance in character that’s been beckoning to Flair, the fans could indeed expect that. A while ago, it was reported that a different side of hers might get unleashed after she shows up. Could that mean she’s coming back as a heel? Time will tell.
What does WWE plan on making Charlotte Flair do after return?
WWE already has a mega program lined up for Charlotte Flair as she closes in on her return. As per WrestleVotes radio, The Queen is being discussed to face Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 41. Of course, it could change, but the idea has been broached internally.
As the moment, the SmackDown women’s division is lopsided with the absence of a high-profile singles name on its roster. Bianca Belair has been entrusted with uplifting the tag team division. As a result, Bayley has been doing the heavy lifting for a while.
But that’s going to change soon enough as Charlotte’s on the cusp of shaking things up. Her track record at WrestleMania speaks for itself. A showdown with Stratton would only add to it.
