Following the thunderstorm that hit the Atlanta Motor race putting a halt to all race activity, NASCAR has decided to skip the qualifying session for Sunday’s  Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 to provide the cup Series team with ample time for practice runs in the newly configurated track which marks the start to 2022 east coast swing.

Friday’s 50-minute practice is postponed to Saturday replacing qualifiers in the afternoon between (12:40 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. ET). The poles were decided according to the new qualifying method in use which saw Phoenix race winner Stewart-Haas Racing’s Chase Briscoe getting awarded the pole for Sunday.

Defending Atlanta race Champion Penske racings Ryan Blaney will line up alongside Chase Briscoe in the start and LA clash at the callosum champion Joey Logano will line up at P3. Greg Biffle will line up at the back of the grid at P37 alongside Josh Bilicki at P36.
