“Check into a home old man” – Warriors fans LASH OUT at Skip Bayless for jibe at Steph Curry and co.
Skip Bayless has given his opinions on the officiating in the Warriors vs Kings series and it is exactly the opposite of what you’d expect!
Skip Bayless talking about the Warriors
The Golden State Warriors’ first-round playoff series against the Sacramento Kings has been marred by controversy, including questionable fouls and allegations of biased officiating. While Draymond Green’s brutal foul against Domantas Sabonis has garnered significant attention, the controversy surrounding the series has persisted. Several NBA analysts and experts have accused the officials of playing favorites in favor of the Kings. This sentiment is shared by a significant portion of observers, and not just a few people.
Skip Bayless, unlike all the other analysts and fans, has a completely different view. To put it simply, Bayless believes the exact opposite. In a recent tweet, Bayless said, “OK, I get it: Refs want to make sure Steph and Co. survive,” implying the refs were being biased towards the Warriors to stop the Kings from taking a 3-1 series lead. Bayless’ allegations have garnered significant criticism from fans who believe the contrary. These fans have roasted Skip on Twitter calling him a range of things, from “old” to a “hater.” Though, surprisingly, there was someone else who, at least to some extent, agrees with Skip’s observation.
Nick Wright, a Fox Sports analyst, criticized his colleagues for suggesting that there was an “asterisk” on the Warriors and Kings series due to biased refereeing. Wright accused his colleagues of exaggerating a minor issue and suggested that the Kings’ victories were legitimate. Wright also stated that the Warriors had committed more fouls throughout the season. They were also worse at drawing free throws than the Kings. By this, he was implying that any bias in officiating wasn’t significant enough to impact the outcome of the series.
While this didn’t entirely agree with Bayless’ allegation, it supported the idea that the Kings weren’t to blame. Let us now look at the reactions fans had to Bayless’ statement.
Skip Bayless faces the WRATH of NBA Twitter for being a ‘Warriors Hater’
Golden Warriors took a dub against the Sacrament Kings in Game 4 of the series, leveling the series at 2-2. This alone was enough for Skip Bayless to come out and scream that the Warriors were being favored. In the past, he never substantially said anything about the allegations of bias against the Warriors, but this time, he did. Fans understood Bayless’ “double standards” and called him various names on Twitter. Look at some of their reactions roasting Skip on Twitter:
While Skip Bayless might allege foul play, it doesn’t seem like anyone will take him seriously. What fans will rather focus on is the extremely tight series between the Warriors and the Kings. The series will head back to Sacramento for Game 5 on Thursday, where the Kings will look to take a 3-2 lead in the series.
