Former Manchester City forward and present Cheslea star Cole Palmer has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season. The 21-year-old has netted an impressive 20 goals in the League this season, a record which is second to none! The League’s top scorer however, has often been equated to the status of ‘only good player’ at Chelsea.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the game vs Arsenal, Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino expressed his desire to put an end to the same. Citing the unavailability of Cole Palmer, Pochettino has put the onus on the rest of his players to take the opportunity as a ‘challenge’.
Palmer leads the goal scoring charts in the League with 20 goals, tied with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. The Gunners are top of the table while Chelsea are ninth, with 47 points.
It's a good challenge if Palmer isn't available tomorrow. I would be motivated to go there and show that this is Chelsea Football Club and not Cole Palmer Football Club.Mauricio Pochettino said in a press conference ahead of the game against Arsenal
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta claims Chelsea are destined for success under Mauricio Pochettino
Despite their aggressive rivalry and important weightage of the game, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was rather laid back when he reassured Chelsea fans that the club will come good under Mauricio Pochettino.
The Blues have spent a gargantuan €1 billion under Todd Boehly for 28 new players. However, the club has failed to make a significant impact with the numerous big money signings.
While the Premier League game featuring Arsenal vs Chelsea could decide the former’s fate, Arteta wasn’t short of praise for his opponent. The Spaniard was convinced that success was bound to hit Chelsea and if not now, soon.
I'm convinced that it will. With that squad and with the manager they have, yes.Mikel Arteta said in a press conference
Arteta drew fans’ attention to the pattern in the previous years, where clubs that have spent a lot have enjoyed significant success. He also called Pochettino’s work ‘impressive’ and that gradually, his team will be at the very top.
Chelsea were recently knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester City, while Arsenal failed to make it past the 3rd round of the competition.
